Returned to me!

Never used the “word” squeee before, but….SQUEEE

So very excited to share with you. My art journal has made it back to me. It made a big journey and has received entries (gifts) from five women in four different countries. I love it, what a special experience and keepsake.

Margaret, I love your use of stamps and texture. All of your entries were lovely!!

Irina, I love your tropical fish, your flying photo and your ability to collage with fabric.

Katie, I love your color and your whimsy, they are very sweet entries. You would be great at illustrating a children’s book.

Victoria, as usual I love your cheery colors and your variety of medias! I’m so excited you crochet too! I just started learning.

Thank you all for sharing this experience with me!!

Another two spreads for international art journal swap

When I’m given a theme I sometimes freeze. The result of that was an end product I was less than pleased with. But then I had my try try again moment and feel fairly redeemed by this happy little tugboat scene.

Katie is mom to sweet Georgie and as Georgie gets a bit older she wants to share this world traveling journal with her.

As I have shared before, I am participating in an art journal swap.  There are five of us women in all; myself from the USA, one from UK, one from Poland, and two from Russia.  These two spreads are now in Margaret’s journal, it’s ready to head to Irina in Russia for her additions.  Thanks for looking an as always I welcome feedback and ideas!

Well, one day last week I was having a very rare moment of negative emotions…rather than continue to be ugly too someone I love I decided to make these two pages.

Then you also see a spread I did inspired by a wonderful date night with my honey. It couldn’t have been better…weather was PERFECT, sat by the World’s Fair Pavilion fountain and had a delicious picnic and wine. Then we went on to enjoy a delightful evening at The Muny. West Side Story has always been a fave!

Mine Mine Mine: It’s the Journey

Mine Mine Mine: It's the Journey

I often don’t do things just for me. I suppose that’s not completely true, I swap ATC’s because I enjoy it, I am doing an art journal swap that I enjoy but I rarely make things to keep so I can look and enjoy my own work. This is the first page in my very own art journal, my first one.

It is small and I LOVE it. I bought a small travel journal at a thrift store and I thought it would make a great art journal. It’s 5 1/2 by 2 3/4 inches.

Also I just bought a couple of spray inks/paints and they are so much fun!!

Sorry about the flash in the photo, the flash pic shows the colors best so I kept it.

Finished-“New day, new fate.”
